Okay, I’m at work, and I feel like cah-rap.  I never, ever [knock on wood] get sick, ever. I get head colds like, twice a year.  I can’t remember the last time I went home from work due to being sick, and the last time I vomited due to causes excluding alcohol was 1993, and it was Christmastime, and I don’t even think I missed school.

This is all well and dandy, you say. Cheers to a fine immune system.  The problem lies that when I do get sick, I am beyond miserable, and elevate what is clearly minor respiratory disruption to bubonic plague levels.  Care for me! Baby me! Fetch me my chicken soup, Damon!
So clearly, I come to work today quite unfocused.

Oh wait. Here..something I can put on my timesheet under “PR - Blogging”

Steak N Shake is now running a promotional offer: $2.99 for a Double-Steakburger and Fries. That’s something like 40% off the regular price.  It’s running through this month, so jump on it, and tell your friends.  So I can keep my job.

Considering the commission we make on the Steak N Shake account probably pays my salary (I do work on other accounts, but the majority of it is for SNS.), you’d think I’d frequent the establishment a bit more.  Truth is, I haven’t been since May of ‘07, so I hit up the 96th street location at about 3am on Sunday morning. It was glorious.

Sidenote: Here’s a couple more pictures from Saturday night. This is a wide shot of Blu Martini, and you can see us 80s-girls in the lower left hand corner, totally out of place.

I need to get a tan.

*cough*
*sniff*

And some chicken soup.

luckily, promptcare told me it was probably only post nasal drip. i, however, feel they were WAY too unconcerned with it. it’s fine now *knock on wood*…

On the other hand, my throat HAS actually bled before (12 days post tonsillectomy) and that was NOT fun… that’s why i panicked this morning..

  • I am the exact same way when I am sick… So I feel your pain (and I’m sure Eric feels Damon’s). I blame it on my mom, however. When I was sick when I was young she would make chicken noodle soup and warm my towels up in the dryer while I was in the shower and such… for some reason, Eric thinks that this is unreasonable… HA :-) Hope you feel better soon

  • Jenn,

1)Thank you for updating… I was getting tired of just reading about your edimame humous.
    2) I’m so sad you’re home sick (although slightly jealous bc you are home and I’m at work). Get better soon!
