Maybe it’s my deep longing for new episodes of the faux-documentary The Office, but I have really been getting into documentaries lately. Here are some of my favorites..
FOR THE LOVE OF DOLLY, Tai Uhlmann’s documentary about people in the throws of intense Dolly Parton fandom. (You can watch it online at Logo’s website!) I don’t want to give too much away, but I will say that there is a woman who smells the seatbelt Dolly once had across her mammoth bazooms.
MOZARTBALLS… Larry Weinstein explores how Mozart has touched people’s lives, including a woman who is convinced she is Mozart reincarnate.
Before the Music Dies, about how the music industry is hopelessly corrupt. This one is a little drier. I’d suggest watching it in segments, because after a while Dave Matthews just kind of looks stoned and says everything you’d expect him to say. Good movie, though.
I’m currently watching Camp Michael Jackson. I’ll let you know how it is.
