Even though Damon and I live together, we have completely opposite schedules. I’m ususally in bed by eleven, while that kid stays up to the wee hours. Most of that time is spent playing Counterstrike, but I’m finding that he also has a penchant for international talent competitions. He introduced me to Canadian Idol a few months ago, which was way better than American Idol, because they could play their own instruments. Then came the X-Factor UK, where there are DANCERS! and where I developed my love-hate relationship with the sibling duo Same Difference, who are completely ridiculous.

While I was in Michigan over the holiday, Damon bided his time by downloading and watching the entire season of Australian Idol, which he may not want me broadcasting over the internet, but oh well. I watched a few of them last night before bed, and holy moly, these kids are so much better than the last American Idol. This kid was in the finals but lost to some girl who did an unplugged version of Man in the Mirror. No joke.

He’s seventeen, and I am officially old enough to feel creepy finding him attractive, even though he can barely muster enough testosterone to grow actual chest hair.

That said, American Idol had best step it up this season.

Argh. I have to go. The fact that I even spent time writing this makes me yak.
