Oh. Hello, livejournal.

I haven’t updated in a while.  That’s because I’ve been all over the place, both physically and mentally.  More on that later.  I’ve been meaning to Bah-LOG abut my recent excursion Up North.  So here goes.

———————————————————–
It was a few days before we were heading up to Wisconsin.
“You know what we forgot?” Damon said, pointing to the cat.
“Forget? Never!!” I said, rubbing my red, leaky eyes for the 23984th time that day.

We he had forgotten to get someone to watch Corona while we were gone. (What? So I don’t take ownership of the cat yet.  See how I look at you when you poop on my carpet.) So we packed McFatty in the kitty carrier I bought her and headed up to Carmel, where Damon’s mom was nice enough to watch her for a week.  That’s fifty plus miles of meowing, people.

Unfortunately, ONE OF US DRIVING THE CAR neglected to see that the gas light was on before we got into Indianapolis.  I will not NAME NAMES.

So we ran out of gas early in our trip, because that is exactly the kind of couple we are.

I did the driving from Indy to Milwaukee. This included the Chicago skyline traffic, which I always stresses me out in a really exciting kind of way.  I love, love, love this city.

I made fantastic time, and enjoyed most of the the drive.  This is due largely in part to Damon’s Sirius satellite radio, which he installed in my car prior to our trip. My favorite channels are the classic rock stations, but I admit that when he had his headphones on, I sing to the Broadway’s Best station.  I’m not really proud of this, but it really helps the drive.   Luckily, Damon’s dad and stepmom Donna drove us around most of the time we got there.

Wisconsin fulfilled my expectations in terms of the sausage, cheese, and custard. I probably gained 3294823 pounds.  Here’s me at a wine festival we went to…

[I am happy, I swear]

They had fun statues outside of this restaurant we ate at…

As you can see, it was fun times. And by “fun times,” I mean: “mmm. custard.”
