Argh. I hear "it's broke" a lot, especially at work. Sad thing is -- and I don't know if this comes from watching too many episodes of "Scrubs" or what -- I actually start to have flash daydream fantasies in which I severely harm these people.

I need a new job.

This totally will not make sense, but "druthers" is a term that is supposed to represent "I'd rather." Technically, saying "if I had my druthers" is saying "if I had my I'd rathers." (i.e. outlining what you'd rather do in a particular situation.)

Weird, yeah? Then again, we are living in a part of the country that says "warsh" instead of "wash".

Similarly, Hoosiers also like to tell you that something isn't functioning because "it's broke". Also, many refuse to use the past tense of the verb "to come", such as, "Me and the wife come up here last year."

While we're on the subject of conjugation, it may not be technically incorrect, but I really hate the rampant tendency of everybody on TV to say "disconnect" instead of "disconnection". Like, "Mr. Senator, there seems to be a disconnect between the public and Washington, does there not?" Even worse, though also not technically incorrect (I don't think), is when a bank offers "free on-line bill pay."

"Free on-line bill pay"? What the fuck is that?

So I read in Maxim... yes, I was reading Maxim (Ben, Eric's roommate gets it in the mail and I read it when I get bored) that it is bad for couples to move into an existing apartment.

If maxim says it, you KNOW it's true.
