The World: “Jenn, it’s midnight. You have to go work at the radio station.”
Jenn’s Internal Clock: “But, but…it feels like 6 pm. Isn’t it time for a mai tai?”
Yes, I am back from seven eight beautiful days in Hawaii. (We were scheduled to come home last night, but our flight was cancelled. Damon and I both took an extra vacation day to recover from jetlag, so we passed up the rerouting options and decided to just stay another day.)
I can adjust to new places like [snap] that. Just give me my iPod and a corner to set up some stuff of my own, and I am golden. It’s the return transition that’s really difficult for me. I get really depressed at the notion that I’ve had this amazing experience, but it’s raining in Indianapolis, and I have to work. The fact that Bloomington is eerily quiet (most of the student body moved out while we were gone) does not help.
Jenny Downer, Jenny Downer! I will quit my bitching and attempt to show a glimpse of my vacation. The only thing I have right now are some pictures I took from my cell phone, but rest assured, big image-laden updates to follow.
This is Waikiki Beach, where I spent a majority of my time:
Damon and I on Tuesday afternoon.
[Not shown: his crippling sunburn and my outrageous freckling.]

You two are so freaking adorable.
Hawaii is so amazing. I’m definitely going back sometime when I have the money.

Haha! Everytime I hear that song now, I will TOTALLY think of you.
I will call you sometime soon, when I don’t feel like I am out of sync with the world by a six hour time difference.

I will definitely go back, too, when you have the money. Meaning I will smuggle myself if your carry-on.
