Damon and I attended his cousin’s wedding in Frankfort, Kentucky this weekend. While my initial feelings were ones of paralyzing FEAR — i.e. blurting out something ridiculously inappropriate/revealing too much cleavage/vomiting over his mother’s shoes – I was oddly comfortable in the family surroundings. In fact, I seemed to survive the weekend without so much as an inept social hiccup.
The outdoor ceremony was warm and slightly breezy and soundtracked by old Irish hymns by a live guitar/violin duo. The reception was held in this adorable dimly lit bed and breakfast, full of old antiques. By some grace of God I didn’t trip, curse, or unintentionally insult a member of Damon’s family. In fact, upon our goodbyes, his mother whispered, “Everyone said you were just gorgeous!” (Which of course translates to, “So you’re nice to look at. Now, stay the f*ck away from my son.” )

Jen you’re gorgeous. get used to it.
I’m sure Damon’s mom is happy for him. I mean who wouldn’t want a beautiful, perfectly polite girl for their son? I know there are … wierd people … and they seem to gravitate towards you (i.e. the BB regulars) but… you know, hopefully his mom is normal. =0P
But really, I think you and Damon are so cute. Glad you had fun. Family things are so scary.
